Dr. Megan Rippy

Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Welcome to the Ecosystem Services Lab!

I am Dr. Megan Rippy, an ecological engineer at Virginia Tech interested in the form and function of coupled human-natural systems in the urban environment. My research focuses on the provisioning of ecosystem services like water quality, water supply, biodiversity, and aesthetics (among others) by green stormwater infrastructure like constructed wetlands and stormwater bioretention. I am stationed at the Occoquan Watershed Monitoring Laboratory in the National Capital Region.
